Tomas Young’s War; National Speaking Tour

April 29, 2016

A national speaking tour will begin May 2, remembering Tomas Young, his fight to balance struggles as a paralyzed veteran with his drive to speak out for veterans care and against the war.

Events will also celebrate the release of Tomas Young’s War, a new book by Mark Wilkerson with a Foreword by Phil Donahue, an emotional and powerful book that sheds light on many crucial but often overlooked issues such as veterans’ care, public attitudes toward the disabled, medical marijuana, and the terminally ill. Tomas Young’s War shares everything, as unflinchingly honest as Tomas himself: the depression, the pain, the love, and laughter…the life of this man whose world was turned upside down by an Iraqi bullet more than ten years ago. Throughout, it serves as a powerful testament to the true cost of war.

“I am honored to have been asked to contribute my art for the cover of this book. Reading it has moved me to tears several times, and I genuinely think that if everyone in America read it, there would be a lot more public consciousness and soul-searching before people would support a war putting precious lives in harm’s way. Thanks to Mark Wilkerson for writing this book and asking me to be part of it.

Please read this book and learn more about Tomas Young but also about the real consequences of going to war.”
