TOMAS YOUNG’S WAR – BOOK RELEASE

April 12, 2016

Today is the release of “Tomas Young’s War,” a book about the incredibly powerful journey of soldier-turned-antiwar activist Tomas Young. Young was an American military veteran of the Iraq War, who enlisted in the Army two days after the 9/11 attacks. Five days after being deployed to Iraq in April 2004, Young was shot and as a result paralyzed from the chest down. In the years following, Tomas Young became an outspoken critic of the Iraq War calling on the Bush Administration and U.S. leaders to apologize to veterans and Americans for what he described as war crimes that he and his fellow soldiers had endured. Young suffered intense physical and psychological injuries and died on November 10, 2014.

I am honored to have been asked to contribute my art for the cover of this book. Reading it has moved me to tears several times, and I genuinely think that if everyone in America read it, there would be a lot more public consciousness and soul-searching before people would support a war putting precious lives in harm’s way. Thanks to Mark Wilkerson for writing this book and asking me to be part of it.

Please read this book and learn more about Tomas Young but also about the real consequences of going to war.
