Salad Days – Cranbrook Art Museum Recap

June 21, 2018

Thank you Cranbrook Art Museum for having me for the opening of Salad Days. I was and still am inspired by punk rock and the incredible visuals. You can get a taste of that world by stepping into the Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, 1976-1986 show that’s on view in tandem with Salad Days. Punk rock and skateboarding really saved my life and Salad Days showcases my first 10 years from the Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker to 1999, and the inspiration and approach I took from punk and put into my own work. Thank you to everyone at Cranbrook especially Andrew Blauvelt and Laura Mott, the Library Street Collective team especially J.J. and Anthony Curis, and my team including Dan Flores. If you’re in Michigan, head to Cranbrook Art Museum between now and October 7, 2018. Thank you for caring! – Shepard
