Power & Glory ‘Merica, a collaboration with my friend Ernesto Yerena, was released last Friday while I was still in Hong Kong through Ernesto’s site – http://www.hechoconganas.com/. The print has already sold out but I wanted to follow up with a better explanation of why Ernesto and I created and released this version of the image. Ernesto and I are both supporters of Native rights and the importance of protecting the planet for all people. If you don’t know what is happening with the Dakota Access Pipeline and the protests from the Standing Rock Sioux nation over the pipeline’s threats to their tribal lands and water supply, some great links are below. Both Ernesto and I strongly support the Native American and other activists who are opposing the pipeline and facing police brutality and prosecution. 100% of the profits from this print will go to supporting those people. While there may have been a mixup in the release time, our hope is that the art inspires people to stand with Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, because that’s what this art is for. – Shepard
All profits from sales of the Power and Glory ‘Merica prints, will go to funding the production of artwork and material support for the people in the struggle at Standing Rock Sacred Stone Camp.
