A note about the art:

Symbols such as flowers and roses have always embodied important messages in my work. This rose represents the archetype of an individual or society who has endured oppression but perseveres and rises above. In creating activist art, my hope is that it encourages people to continue the fight against injustice no matter how difficult things may be. – Shepard
