My newest print, “Media Target,” seems to be confusing some people. The text in the image that says MEDIA DISINTEGRATION should be an obvious indication that I’m not endorsing, but critiquing, the phenomenon of people like Kylie Jenner eclipsing more important topics in our media. This image began as an image solution for the PRINT Magazine “Illegibility Issue.” My thought is that the white noise we all are assaulted with competes with, obscures, and for practical purposes, renders illegible the things that have merit and meaning for our lives. Media disintegration is not just the fault of the media… as part of a capitalist system, media outlets are simply supplying what we demand.
