Public Enemy is my favorite hip-hop group, and in my opinion, the most important hip-hop group of all time. I became interested in them after reading a Thrasher Magazine review of their first album which described Public Enemy’s music as “the new punk.” So, as a longtime fan of Public Enemy and Flavor Flav, I’m happy to support the LA Art Show and Flav as the DJ for the after party. I’ve always enjoyed the humor and zaniness that Flav brought as a balancing element to Chuck D’s intensity in Public Enemy. Their chemistry was essential to the overall impact of the group, so I’m happy to help support this. In conjunction with this, my friends at Prints on Wood are releasing a wood print of my Flavor Flav portrait during the LA Art Show from January 9th through January 16th at 10am (pst) and then online following. More information available here. Thanks for caring!
