“Paix Et Justice” (Peace and Justice) Mural in Montréal

June 10, 2022

I’ve wanted to paint a mural in Montréal as part of MURAL Festival for several years, but the timing kept conflicting with other obligations. I’m very happy that I could do it this year as part of their 10th festival and the first full festival since COVID-19 began. I was offered an amazing wall on St-Laurent right next to where the entertainment is happening, so my mural overlooks not only a cool part of town but all of the music and celebration. The mural, titled “Paix et Justice” (Peace & Justice), addresses themes that are consistently important to me and aligned with the art show with the same title, which opens today at S16 Gallery. The crew and I were lucky that we had great weather, other than some heavy winds, so we could finish the mural in three long days of work. Thank you to my crew of Dan Flores, Nicholas Bowers, Rob Zagula, and Luka Densmore for their hard work on the mural, Jon Furlong for his photography and video, and Victoria Yarnish for the support. Thank you to Nico, Yan, Pierre-Alain, and the entire MURAL Festival team! Also, thank you to Adam, Mike, and the Station16 crew. Special shoutout to Obey Clothing folks – Steve T, Ryan, Seth, GMan, and Jon G.
