Norman Lear, the writer, producer, and creator of many successful and socially minded TV shows such as “All in the Family” has passed away at 101. I met Norman a few times through working with his progressive organization People For the American Way. Norman was charming, intelligent, funny, and extremely motivated to cultivate justice and compassion through both his TV shows and his activism. Norman Lear embodied everything I admire as an artist/activist/citizen. Norman’s voice and contribution will be sorely missed, but the team and organization he has built with People For the American Way will continue its important work.
