I frequently talk about the importance of campaign finance reform to take corporate and special interest money out of politics and restore democracy, but the issue does not seem to resonate with a lot of Americans. A new documentary film called “Meet The Donors: Does Money Talk?” illustrates the culture of elite donors who pay for access to politicians. The donors, both Republicans, and Democrats, are motivated by a mix of ideology and business interests, but either way, they have a disproportionate influence that corrupts the intended pluralism of democracy.
