Interdependent Nature Murals in Mesa, Arizona

April 28, 2025

The crew and I recently completed a pair of murals titled “Interdependent Nature” on the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona. The architecture of the building is very cool, so it was fun to figure out mural solutions for the funky angles of the walls. These murals, meant as a diptych, feature imagery and symbols that remind us of the intertwined nature of earth and humanity and the need to cultivate harmony. Peace, health, and justice require an understanding that we are all connected parts of a whole. I am very grateful to the Mesa Arts Center and the city of Mesa for their support on this project. I was moved by the support of many locals who stopped by to say hello and swap stories. Thank you also to my crew of Rob Zagula and Jon Furlong (who also shot the pics) for their help on some long hot days!
