Golden Compass is Currently Open at OTI Bangkok Until April 27th, 2025

My show Golden Compass, currently open at Over the Influence in Bangkok, explores the human struggle to find balance and harmony while combatting injustice and managing righteous rage and grief. Art is a perfect tool in this quest because it connects to the most compassionate core of our humanity. The concepts in “Golden Compass” serve as guiding principles in our collective journey, guiding us toward self-discovery and contemplation to unlock conscious and subconscious truths. The works in this show offer an interplay of mixed-media collage, bold graphic elements, and type to engage and challenge the viewer on a range of topics. The aim is to create dynamic dialogues that confront complex themes while fostering a direct connection with the audience. My hope is that each piece provides an opportunity for reflection, ideally inspiring subtle or overt calls to action. This exhibition showcases a diverse array of original mixed media paintings, alongside a collection of retired stencils and screenprints rendered on wood and metal, all set against unique collaged backgrounds. It is my hope that these works will inspire viewers to reflect on their own journeys, encouraging them to find their personal compass amid challenging times. Thanks for caring! – S
