I’m always trying to find ways to give back, and it’s great to know that TODAY is dedicated to helping others, although we should strive to give back every day. For #GivingTuesday, I’d like to highlight two of many organizations that I support.
I made this art earlier this year for Homeboy Industries; with it I tried to convey Father Greg’s vision, as well as the love, trust, and camaraderie that exemplify the culture of Homeboy. I’m incredibly inspired by Father Greg Boyle who’s spirit and dedication have helped to build an ecosystem that gives opportunities to people who frequently find doors closed elsewhere. The pride people feel at Homeboy is palpable and this artwork is meant to illustrate the power of support, healing, and redemption. My Friends Place is a nonprofit drop-in resource center in Hollywood offering a comprehensive continuum of care, health, educational, and therapeutic services to more than 1,400 youth experiencing homelessness and their children each year.
