“My political stance on protecting the planet is driven by my concern for the quality of life for future generations. I’m not an alarmist, but I do think people need to understand that we are facing an earth crisis. The original Earth Crisis globe at the Eiffel Tower provided different experiences for spectators from a distance and up close, and that variation in experience is a very exciting concept for me as an artist and activist. I’m glad that this piece is appealing visually but even more pleased that it has been generating needed conversations about the fate of our planet.” -Shepard
