Blondie guitarist and primary songwriter Chris Stein has an opening of his photography tonight at the Morrison Hotel gallery at the Sunset Marquis. He has amazing photos of his friends and contemporaries. He and I are collaborating on a poster of Joan Jett that he took on Blondie’s first trip to LA. Look out for that soon with at least some being signed by me, Chris, and Joan. This show is not to be missed!

Chris Stein started taking photographs in 1968. During his last years at the School Of Visual Arts in NYC he began hanging around the early downtown rock scene. In 1973 he met and began working with Debbie Harry, and together they founded the band Blondie. Chris was always taking pictures of the milieu that surrounded Blondie and was lucky to be on the inside and able to mingle with many pioneers of the new wave and punk music scenes. His photos of Debbie have helped establish her as an international icon.

The Sunset Marquis Hotel is located at 1200 Alta Loma Road in West Hollywood, CA.
Parking is only available at the Sunset Millennium Public Parking garage, located at 8570 Sunset Blvd (entrance is located on Alta Loma Road and can only be reached from Sunset Blvd).
