New Manual Arts MLK Mural in Los Angeles

May 06, 2025

The crew and I recently finished a mural at Manual Arts High School, which is part of the LAUSD public school system. Branded Arts brought together an amazing group of artists to paint murals at the school which reinforce the creative culture and programs of the school, but also to add some art to the whole surrounding community. The school is on South Vermont, very close to MLK Boulevard, so I included a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr., who is a hero and role model for me and so many others. MLK’s ideas about justice are incredibly relevant in the current moment, so I’m very happy to have him as a focal beacon within this large mural. Thank you so much to Manual Arts, Branded Arts, and my crew of Dan Flores, Nic Bowers, Willem Wolfe, and Jon Furlong (who also shot the photos). It’s great to have another mural in my hometown of LA celebrating education, creativity, and social justice!
