May Day is a celebration of spring and the rebirth it represents, meanwhile it’s also observed in many countries as International Workers’ Day or Labor Day – a day of political demonstrations and celebrations coordinated by unions and socialist groups. “Mayday” is also the distress signal used by pilots, police and firefighters in times of emergency. This Spring, it’s time for new activist movements to bloom. We need to respect the working people who are the engine of society, and we need a distress signal to wake us all up if the signals haven’t woken us up already. If we stay silent, there’s no hope, but if we make noise and put our ideas out there, we can make a change! – Shepard
