MAYDAY: A code word used in emergencies as a distress signal.
This piece from my May Day show at Deitch Projects in 2010 references these three concepts which are very relevant today – i.e. today is May Day, and in the current political situation. This spring, it’s time for new activist movements to bloom. We need to respect the working people who are the engine of society and we need a distress signal to wake us all up if the signals haven’t woken us up already. It’s our future and it starts today. – Shepard
