SHEPARD AND AMANDA FAIREY LAUNCH #MAKEAMERICASMARTAGAIN VOTER EDUCATION MOVEMENT

July 06, 2016

My wife Amanda and I have been following the election news and wanted to do something to use our voice to motivate voter turnout.  We started #MakeAmericaSmartAgain as a movement to encourage voter education and registration during this election season and to get people to engage in deeper thought and dialogue about issues, and be less apathetic by participating in our democracy. While I personally am outspoken about my beliefs, #MakeAmericaSmartAgain is a non-partisan movement to promote education on all issues, not to align with or disparage any candidate. Please read more about it, sign up for our newsletter at GoVoteMASA.com or rtvote.com/masa to pledge to #MakeAmericaSmartAgain.

According to a USA Today/Rock the Vote poll of millennials, the generation is already invested in issues that will be up for debate during the general election. For example, 81 percent of millennials agree that America should transition to clean energy, and a majority are in favor of stricter gun control regulations. Other most top issues for millennials include the economy, education, and healthcare.  Leading up to the general election, there will be several hosted events, including an outdoor screening of cult classic “Idiocracy” with partners Eat|See|Hear in Los Angeles.
