On February 4th, 2011 there will be a joint benefit for Women’s Voices Now (WVN) and the Levantine Cultural Center (LCC) and will support Women’s Voices Now’s fist major project Women’s Voices from the Muslim World: A Short-Film Festival. The evening’s flavors:
• Films from Women’s Voices from the Muslim World: A Short Film Festival projected in the space’s two alcoves;
• Art exhibit including artists Shepard Fairey, Rachel Monosov, Carly Ivan Garciaand Yapci Ramos and co-curated by Catinca Tabacaru and Jordan Elgrably. The works speak to the women’s issues explored in the Festival;
• The Hijabi Monologues, a short performance starring Maytha Alhasse;
• Cocktail party with an Open Bar, hors d’oeuvres with music DJ Alsultany.
