The “1962″ piece is a mashup of Warhol’s iconic Marilyn Monroe image and the equally iconic Misfits Fiend Skull. The Misfits, who took their name from Marilyn’s final film before she “died” wrote the song “Who Killed Marilyn?.” That song gave me the idea and inspiration to make this mashup of 2 American pop culture icons that blend seamlessly together, aesthetically and historically.
