“Electric Lotus,” a collaborative art amp with Jack White, one of my favorite musicians, is now on view at Newport Street Gallery for Jack’s exhibition “These Thoughts May Disappear.” The exhibition, curated by Jack White and Connor Hirst, will run from May 29 through September 13, 2026. Lost & Found is a series of releases pulling from the archives of Obey Giant Art. This week, we are excited to announce the release of a number of prints that were originally released in 2008: LA Philharmonic Hall. The print features an image of one of Los Angeles’ most famous landmarks, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, which was designed by world renowned architect Frank Gehry.

In honor of conductor Gustavo Dudamel’s upcoming finale concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, a limited number of these prints will be available on Thursday, June 4th at 10 AM PT in the Obey Giant Store.

The @pixiesofficial are one of my favorite bands, but I have to admit my love of their music grew stronger over time because I was admittedly more one-dimensional when I first heard them in 1988/1989. Back then, I was mostly listening to punk and hardcore and thought I was too tough for more melodic “college rock,” except for Husker Du. I liked the Pixies well enough, but after repeated listens to Surfer Rosa and Doolittle, I started to recognize their genius. The Pixies combine dissonance, melody, quiet/loud, playfulness, surreal lyrics, punk, and surf vibes into such a unique, infectious, irreverent yet gorgeous sonic stew that I can’t believe it took me a minute to catch on. Let’s chalk it up to a youthful musical palette that took time to fully develop. Another important dynamic to mention is the unique vocal and musical interplay between primary songwriter Black Francis and bassist Kim Deal. No one sounded or sounds like the Pixies. They are also a fantastic live band, who I’ve seen many times since they reformed in 2004. So I’ll get to the point… I’ve wanted to do a poster for the Pixies for years, and when the chance finally came along, the venue is the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, no less! I channeled the Art Deco and Film Noir vibes of some of the band’s visuals, and these prints are the result! I’m grateful to the Pixies for their music and honored to collaborate!

For the exhibition OBEY: Power to the Peaceful at @gallerieditalia - Napoli, Shepard Fairey returns as the central figure with a body of over 150 works that explore the core themes of his practice: propaganda and counter-information, social justice, conflict, and the possibility of peace.

Curated by Giuseppe Pizzuto and held under the patronage of the City of Naples, the exhibition offers a powerful and direct perspective on the contradictions of our time and on the role of art as a critical and participatory tool.

The exhibition invites reflection on the power of images, the construction of consensus, and collective responsibility, reaffirming the central role of peace as an active and political choice.
