Shepard Fairey: In Conversation at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, SC on March 20th

Join us for a special evening at the Gibbes Museum of Art as we welcome artist and Charleston native Shepard Fairey as a guest for the first time. Fairey is a globally recognized contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, and founder of OBEY Clothing, whose art and iconography have become among the most provocative and potent emblems of the past four decades. His work has proven the resounding power of art beyond the traditional gallery space, and Fairey’s “Hope” portrait of President Barack Obama came to define an era.

Fairey will be in conversation with Gibbes President and CEO Alex Rich to discuss his prolific career, his Southern roots, and the enduring impact of art — and its ability to effect change — in the urban landscape.

Tickets and more details about this special event can be found HERE.
